Those delegates who have booked accommodation at Beit Hall or Week's Hall
on Imperial College campus should have had confirmation directly from IC's
conference centre. Please refer to this link: http://www.imperial.ac.uk/conferences/index.asp?page_id=7
for directions to the halls from South Kensington Underground station (served by District, Circle and Piccadilly lines) via the subway. However, please note the following points:
- There is no longer a Science Museum shop in the subway.
- You should leave the subway at the Natural History Museum (NHM) exit if you wish to register for the conference on your way up to the halls on Tuesday afternoon.
- Princess Gardens South Side (Watts Way) is closed for rebuilding so you should continue up Exhibition Road until you reach Princess Gardens North to reach Week's Hall.
The SVPCA conference registration desk will be open on Tuesday 6th September,
2..00 - 5..30 pm in the Flett Lecture Theatre Foyer on the 1st floor of the
Earth Galleries building of the NHM. Enter the Museum by the Earth Galleries
public entrance in Exhibition Road. You will pass this entrance on your way
to the halls if you leave the subway at the NHM exit and stay on the left
hand side of Exhibition Road. The registration desk will be open from 08.30
on Wednesday, 8th September and remain staffed during meeting hours.
Delegates attending SPPC as well as SVPCA will be able to collect their registration folders in the Museum on Tuesday. Details for SPPC registration and programme are being sent separately by the SPPC organisers, Lorraine Cornish and Adrian Doyle.

The SVPCA meeting programme is being sent out with this circular. A bound volume of abstracts will be available at the meeting.
Standard facilities will be available to speakers but note that PowerPoint is the preferred method of presentation. Presentations should be brought on CD-ROM disc, not on a laptop only. Personal laptops will not be connected to the data projection facilities. The latest XP version of PowerPoint will available. Please make sure that you get your disc to the session organisers well before your session is due to start. A speaker-ready desktop PC will be provided in the small meeting area directly behind the lecture theatre for checking presentations and for e-mail.
Posters will be displayed in the Flett Lecture Theatre Foyer throughout the meeting and there will be a dedicated wine and poster reception on Thursday evening. Posters can be mounted on Tuesday afternoon between 2.00 and 5.30 pm or on Wednesday morning.
The annual auction in aid of the Jones-Fenleigh Memorial Fund will be held
Wednesday early evening in the Museum's Courtyard Rooms with a supply of cold beers to encourage bidding. Please bring books, reprints, casts, memorabilia and more - and plenty of cash or your chequebook! Items for the auction should be handed in to the reception desk no later than 2.00pm on Wednesday.
It is important that you wear your conference badge visibly at all times whilst in the Museum. We thank you for your co-operation over this matter. Your badge will entitle you to a 10% discount in the Museum shops.
